Seven-year-old Kiki and her 17-year-old big sis Sunny are two shy kittens who have found themselves homeless in their adult and senior years. They desperately need a new home into which they can retire – together. If you’re the sort of special person who’d like to make that happen: firstly, I love you, and so does Dog. Secondly, these lovely ladies are staying with Helping Hand Cat Rescue and Adoption in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and you should give ’em a call right away. Kiki and Sunny are eager to meet you, yo!

Kiki and Sunny
Domestic Short Hair Mix: An adoptable cat in Excelsior Springs, MO
Medium • Adult • Female

Kiki is the brown marbled tabby and Sunny is the white cat with black and tan spots. Kiki’s b.d. is 03/28/05 and Sunny’s b.d. is 09/14/94. They both came from the same home and I would prefer they be adopted together. I will do a two-fer on them to keep them together. Both cats are timid and will need a quiet place to reside. Both of them will hide if there’s too much commotion in the area. Sunny, right now is for the most part eating strictly canned food. As you can see, she is 17 years old. She does have a touch of arthritis. When she walks, she minces on her toes. She will need a little extra TLC to make her comfortable in her golden years. Kiki is especially timid. She is a very friendly cat, though and purrs up a storm when you pick her up and cuddle her. Please consider these two together and give them a loving home! My contact number is 816-810-4163.

Sadie the American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd mix.

Sweet Sadie of Smithville needs a home where she can mature and grow old. She has big, beautiful eyes; a long, baleful face; and the prettiest brindle coat you ever did see. Also: silly little frog legs (see the pic below), and all the love in the world, to share with a special human like you. (You’re special, right?) Consider yourself lucky should she choose you!

Find-a-Friend Friday: Amethyst

Amethyst, what a jewel!

If you’re a one-cat human, Amethyst might just be your girl! She’s currently staying in a foster home with Blue Skye Cat and Kitten Adoptions. But, seeing as she’s not too fond of her fellow felines, this really isn’t the ideal place for her. She’s okay with dogs, though! Just as long as they mind their own biz!

Silver Tabby Adult

Amethyst is a bit of a dichotomy. She’s just a bit skittish, but she loves to come up to you for a good loving. I tend to think maybe she was shooed away alot in her prior home. But if you encourage her a bit, she loves her loving! She definitely doe NOT like other cats, but will tolerate a calm, well-behaved dog. She would do fine with older children. She needs a loving home of her own. She’s not happy in a foster environment.

When we got Amethyst we were told she was pregnant. She wasn’t, she was just fat! So she is a little chunky, but not too chunky!

This cat’s estimated birthdate is 7/1/2008. Her adoption fee is: $50.00.

This cat is altered, up to date on shots and worming, tested for Feline Leukemia, and comes with a complimentary well exam with one of our participating vets. Without the support of our wonderful veterinarian partners, we wouldn’t be able to do the rescue work we do today!

You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens on Saturdays from noon-five at our adoption Center located at Mariposa Veterinary Center. Mariposa Vet Clinic is located at 13900 Santa Fe Trail Drive in Lenexa. Not every animal attends every adoption so always call or e-mail ahead to confirm that a particular animal will be present. All of our cats and kittens stay in licensed foster homes during the week (except for Saturday). For more information e-mail or call 913-971-0101

If you’re interested in this lovely lady (and I know that you are!), give Blue Skye Cat and Kitten Adoptions a holla!

Find-a-Friend Friday: Campbell

Campbell, the handsome Shepherd Mix “senior.”
He’s only six years old in people years! That’s middle aged, yo!

Campbell needs a home, asap! Somehow this gorgeous, lovable guy ended up at the Kansas City Animal Shelter – and, while the staff is doing their best to keep him healthy and happy, the hard floors and metal cages are bringing him down. He’s depressed and uncomfortable and doesn’t want to spend the second half of his life alone, homeless. He deserves that much, so let’s give it to him. Whaddya say, Kansas City? Let’s find Campbell his forever home!

Shepherd Mix: An adoptable dog in Kansas City, MO
Large • Senior • Male

Calm and cool is all you need to know. I am pretty depressed here and all I want to do is find a warm bed and some nice people who will take me in. These living arrangements are hard on a senior dog like me. Lucky for me the staff here gives me some extra attention that allows some quiet time for me. I won’t ask for much and I will be the best dog I can be. Please someone help me find a home so I can relax…Thank you!

Campbell is currently in the care of KC Pet Project and residing at the Kansas City Animal Shelter. He is over 6 years old.

Our goal at KC Pet Project is to promote the health and welfare of the pets in our care and facilitate their placement into loving homes. We hope that you will decide to start the new year with a new friend by visiting the Kansas City Animal Shelter and adopting a pet.
