Find-a-Friend Friday: Callie

November 9th, 2012 11:09 am by Kelly

My, what big whiskers you have.
Photos courtesy of Raytown Gregory Animal Health Center.

Last week we featured a black greyhound with a white chest; this week, it’s a black cat with a white chest! Total coincidence, I swear. Callie’s the only animal currently staying at the Raytown Gregory Animal Health Center, which is why she caught my eye. I like to hit up all the local rescue groups, you see. Also she’s an older girl, which can make it more difficult to rehome her. To add insult to injury, she didn’t even have any likes on Facebook. Boo hiss boo, right? Let’s see if we can change that – or, better still, get this lovely lady adopted!

Callie
Domestic Short Hair-Black And White: An adoptable cat in Raytown, MO
Small • Senior • Female

Hello everyone, my name is Callie. I am 11 years old and am looking for my forever home. I am current on vaccines, feline leukemia and FIV negative, dewormed, spayed and declawed in the front. I get along with calm dogs and cats.

I am very talkative, I love affection but I also enjoy my ‘me’ time. I am a very chill kind of cat and slightly timid with new people, but once I get to know you, I become very attached! I am just looking for someone who I can enjoy my days with.

If you would like to meet me, please call Diana at 816-716-2291.

Tori is a lovely, mature kitty who survived a life on the streets to make her way to you. Yeah, you! She’s currently staying at the Petco at 95th & Quivira, care of The Animal Rescue Alliance (T.A.R.A.) in Independence, MO. Give them a call and arrange a meeting today!

Tori
Domestic Short Hair: An adoptable cat in Independence, MO
Small • Adult • Female

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please contact Carol (CMontemore@kc.rr.com) for more information about this pet.

Email T.A.R.A. | T.A.R.A.’s Web Site | Online Application

Tori was found outside a vet’s office, so her life on the streets came to an end with a nice dose of loving, professional care. She made her way to T.A.R.A. and is now enjoying the comforts of abundant food and a snuggly bed. She loves getting attention from people and she gets along with other cats as well. One of her most notable features is her tail: she holds it upright when she walks and it curls around and over her back. She also loves to play – particularly with a tennis ball. Come and meet her! She’s very charming and would love to convince you to give her the forever home she deserves.

Approximate Birthdate: 05/2010

Adoption Fee: $85.00

Tori can be seen in person at the Petco at 95th & Quivira; however, to visit with her out of the cage, you may need to make an appointment with the contact person listed above.

TARA’s adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, FeLV/FIV Combo test, flea prevention and deworming. TARA’s pets are all eligible for a two week trial.

Because we do not know the background of many of our cats we cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 2-7 pounds, Med 8-13 pounds, Large 14-19 pounds, Extra Large over 20 pounds.

For more information please fill out an APPLICATION

Please visit our EVENTS PAGE for information about our upcoming adoption events.

Find-a-Friend Friday: #14780

#14780 is a Tortoiseshell kitty!
Photos courtesy of The City of Gladstone Animal Shelter.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for animals who have numbers where their names should be. I mean, it’s so sad, right?! This little lady is a someone, not a something; she has her own likes and dislikes, her own unique personality and life story, perhaps – probably – a family that she loves and misses. She’s an individual, a fellow traveler on this little marble we call Earth, and yet you wouldn’t know it by looking at her name/number.

Someone adopt this dear girl and give her a name, okay? Something with pizazz. Something to remember.

She deserves that, and so much more.

Find-a-Friend Friday: Pop

“Paint me like one of your Siamese kittens.”
Photos courtesy of HELP Humane Society.

Pop, what a pretty boy! Unfortunately he’s a bit traumatized from living with too many cats and too little food, so he needs a patient, loving home to help coax him out of his shell. If you think that’s you, give HELP Humane Society today. Or think about adopting one of the other wonderful felines currently in the care of this no-kill shelter – help free up a spot for another cat in need!

Pop
Tabby/Domestic Short Hair Mix: An adoptable cat in Belton, MO
Small • Adult • Male

Is this boy gorgeous or not? He literally looks like he is ‘painted’. He was rescued from a horrible situation where cats were just breeding and breeding and no one was even feeding them. Luckily they lived through it and got to safety at our shelter. Pop is very timid with strangers, so he would need a kind patient person to adopt him. He really loves affection but wow, he is just too scared to ask for it. However, after we close at night, he seems to come out of his shell, so we believe that in a quiet home, no children, he would do great! How can you resist such a gorgeous boy, we hope you give him the chance he deserves!! Pop, boy, born 6/09

HELP Humane is a non-profit TRUE No Kill animal shelter currently run on individual donations and fundraising alone. (just south of Kansas City). All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians, receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been FeLV/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting from us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP Humane believes that all life is precious and is therefore, a TRUE No Kill shelter. We have many FIV and FeLV+ cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home. Come Visit Us! Our hours of operation are Tuesday – Friday, 1pm – 8pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm, Sunday 12pm – 5pm, closed on Monday. 511 Main St. Belton, MO 64012 816-318-HELP www.helppets.org Adoption fees vary according to the needs of the animal up for adoption.

Find-a-Friend Friday: Pan

I can only assume that every photo of Pan is blurry because HE’S A DAEMON!
Photos courtesy of Divapets Cat Rescue.

Pan is a skinny, scrappy little guy who’s spent all of his one year with Divapets rescue. His siblings were all adopted, and yet Pan (Pan? Short for Pantalaimon, perhaps? Sraffies holla!) remains. Not fair, right? Let’s see if we can change that!

Pan
Domestic Short Hair – Gray And White/Siamese Mix: An adoptable cat in Merriam, KS
Small • Young • Male

Meet Pan………..a fine young cat who gets along well with dogs, other cats and is especially sweet & gentle. He would likely do well with children.

Pan is small, sleek and lean and appears to have some Siamese heritage. He is mostly white with some gray tabby ear caps, an eye patch, tail and back leg spots. He also has the cutest little gray tabby chin spot, like a goatee.

Pan is the last of his litter unadopted, and somehow got to be almost a year old without going to his forever home. He has been waiting very patiently, and watched all of his littermates find their forever homes. Now isn’t he a very deserving boy? Handsome, young, plenty of play, and cuddling will be what you can expect from this lovely boy.

An application is required prior to visiting our animals in their foster homes and to help ensure a good fit between adopter and adoptee. Please CLICK HERE to fill out an adoption application. One of our volunteers will get back to you within 24 hours. Please contact us for more info! taniaddsn@yahoo.com

If you’re looking for a playful new soul-friend, Pan’s the guy for you!
